A suspect has been taken into custody after shots were reportedly fired near the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida. According to Fox News and other sources, the suspect has been identified by law enforcement as Ryan Wesley Routh.

A backpack containing an AK-style rifle and other items was recovered near the golf course. The former president was on the 5th hole when his Secret Service detail tackled him to the ground as the shots rang out. The suspect initially fled the area but was arrested by police shortly afterwards. This developing story is still unfolding, and SHR Media will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.

According to local officials at a press conference, “Officials say Trump did not have Secret Service protection surrounding the golf course because ‘he is not the sitting president.’” The official went on to state that if he had been the sitting president, the entire gold course would have been inside the protective bubble.

Several X users are speculating that the suspect is on known on X as @RyanRouth. An X user, @shlouwho posted a collaboration of posts on x alleged to be the suspect Routh, though it is not confirmed by officials at this time that they are in fact the same person.

A photo from the Tampa Free Press, shows a side by side photo appearing to be Routh next to a photo of the shooting suspect. The photo with the shirt off is believed to have been was during the arrest by law enforcement after the shooting.

Bannon War Room Investigative Reporter, Natalie Winters, just posted this to X stating that the suspect Routh made numerous donations to Democrats. “Recipients include Elizabeth Warren, Beto, Andrew Yang, Tom Steyer, and Tulsi Gabbard in 2019 and 2020.”.

Both Meta and X have shut down the pages of a man named Ryan Routh, believed to be the suspect in the shooting. X user @Jessiprincey recorded his Facebook page before it was deleted.

Following the attempted assassination, Florida Governor Rod DeSantis announced the State of Florida will conduct an investigation, separate to the federal investigation.

The questions are mounting as too how Routh knew when the former President was going to be golfing when it wasn’t noted in his public schedule. The suspect allegedly camped out near the Trump International Golf Course for 12 hours.
