In recent news, the issue of Latin Kings shoot on sight orders has become a topic of intense discussion, raising concerns about safety and law enforcement responses.

The Latin Kings street gang has issued a chilling “shoot on sight” order targeting federal agents working in Operation Midway Blitz, a coordinated law enforcement effort in Chicago aimed at dismantling violent criminal networks tied to illegal immigration and organized crime.

According to an internal Customs and Border Protection memo obtained by The Hill, agents were warned to maintain “heightened situational awareness and exercise extreme caution when conducting enforcement activities.”

“Our law enforcement is now facing an 8,000 percent increase in death threats against them while they risk their lives every single day to remove the worst of the worst,” a Department of Homeland Security representative said.

Violence Escalates in Chicago

Federal authorities say threats against Border Patrol and ICE personnel have surged since Operation Midway Blitz intensified.

“Nearly every day, we have seen violence, assaults, or smears against our officers in Chicago, including yesterday when agents’ vehicles were rammed multiple times and shots fired at them,” one DHS representative told Fox News.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin condemned what she called “a growing climate of tolerance toward anti-police violence.”

“It really is a shame that the Democrat Party has decided that violence against law enforcement is OK,” McLaughlin said.

Illegal Immigrant Arrested After Shooting at Agents

The warning came shortly after Border Patrol agents were fired upon in Chicago. An illegal immigrant was arrested in connection with the attack.

“This individual should have never been walking the streets of Chicago,” said CBP Chief Patrol Agent Greg Bovino. “He should not have been in this country, so the fact that he has re-violated again and still has a firearm is … very concerning to us in law enforcement.”

Latin Kings Leader Arrested Over Federal ‘Hit’ Bounty

Just weeks earlier, a high-ranking Latin Kings leader, Juan Espinoza Martinez, was arrested after allegedly placing a bounty on Bovino’s head.

According to DHS, a Snapchat conversation showed Martinez offering $2,000 for information and $10,000 “if you take him down.” The messages also referenced “LK… on him,” linking the gang directly to the threat.

“Depraved individuals like Juan Espinoza Martinez who do not value human life and threaten law enforcement do NOT belong in this country,” McLaughlin said. “We will not allow criminal gangs to put hits on U.S. government officials.”

Martinez has been charged with one count of murder-for-hire under federal law, according to the Department of Justice.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche emphasized the case as part of the administration’s broader crackdown:

“Placing a bounty on the head of a federal officer is an attack on the rule of law and on every American who depends on law enforcement to keep them safe. The Department of Justice will never allow violent gangs or criminal networks to target those who protect our borders and our communities.”
