The Senate Votes to Open the government
By SHR Media Staff
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. House of Representatives has officially passed H. Res. 873, the continuing resolution to fund the federal government and end the shutdown. The measure clears the path for the government to reopen once signed into law by the President.
The recorded vote was as follows:
- Republicans: Yea 222
- Democrats: Nay 209

The resolution provides for consideration of the Senate amendment to H.R. 5371, covering continuing appropriations and extensions for Fiscal Year 2026.
The bill now heads to the President’s desk, where he is expected to sign it tonight, formally ending the funding lapse and reopening federal operations.
