US Senate Votes to Open Government
By: SHR Media Staff
The Senate voted late Tuesday night to pass a continuing resolution that would reopen the federal government after more than one month of closure. The shutdown began on October 1 and has caused widespread disruption across federal agencies and public services.
Senator Markwayne Mullin said earlier in the evening that the chamber had the votes to move the bill forward, and last night’s test vote showed strong bipartisan support for ending the standoff. Final details of the agreement are still coming in as lawmakers continue to review the full text.
What Happens Next?
The bill now heads to the House, possibly as early as Tuesday, where it is expected to pass without major changes. Once approved, it will go to President Trump, who is expected to sign it and bring the shutdown to an end.
SHR Media will continue to monitor developments and will update readers as soon as additional information becomes available.
