How many times do I and others like me have to say “You don’t hate the media enough”? This time CNN tried to frame the two men who attempted to throw explosives at a protest outside the NYC Mayor’s mansion. In an X post promoting an article about the terror attack the network’s bias reached a level of absurdity that is hard to ignore. Reports indicate the suspects yelled “Allahu Akbar” when they lit and launched the IEDs. Yet CNN attempted to give these attempted murderers the “Rolling Stone, Boston Marathon Bomber” treatment.

The suspects Emir Balat and Ibrahim Kayumi drove from Pennsylvania to NYC to target a specific protest. CNN dubbed that gathering an “anti-Islam protest organized by a right-wing provocateur.” Then they described the suspects in a promotional post as “two Pennsylvania teenagers” who “crossed into New York City Saturday Morning for what could’ve been a normal day.”

The Victimization of Domestic Terrorists

CNN framed these two ISIS loving, domestic terrorists as young wide-eyed teenagers who were somehow just out for a Sunday drive. They maintained this narrative despite the fact the men had homemade IEDs that they later threw at protesters and law enforcement officers. The post continued with the line: “But in less than an hour, their lives would drastically change.”

Does it not seem like CNN is portraying these two adult males as the victims? They plotted to target a protest with explosives to kill as many people as possible. Yet the media frames the consequences of their actions as a tragic turn of events for the attackers. This is exactly why you do not hate the media enough.

The Pander and the PR Machine

This is not the first time and it certainly will not be the last. You can tell who a network appeals to—or rather who they pander to—by how they attempt to soften the image of people they want you to see as victims. In my opinion the message they sent was: “See, the evil protesters who don’t like people murdering in the name of Islam, they forced these two to this by protesting.”

The sad part is that a group of clapping and barking fat seals on the progressive dock are all nodding along like this is entirely objective. I have said before that I and the others at SHR Media have our opinions too. We promote content on social media but we articulate what is opinion and what is straight news. CNN and others in the mainstream media do not have the ability or the desire to do the same. They remain the public relations machine for ideologies that are hostile to American values.

Yes, I know they retracted it. But that is their plan. They layout an initial that gets all the attention, then attempt to quietly retract. This time, the internet held them accountable.
