Brown University Shooting Investigation Updated as Police Release New Video

Authorities investigating the shooting at Brown University have released additional surveillance video as the search continues for the suspect responsible for the deadly attack on campus earlier this month.
The shooting occurred during a final exam review session inside the Barus & Holley Engineering Building in Providence, Rhode Island. Two students were killed and several others were injured. The suspect remains at large.
New Surveillance Video Released
Providence Police and federal investigators released new video footage showing a person of interest moving through areas near the Brown University campus around the time of the shooting. Officials say the footage is being shared publicly in hopes that members of the community may recognize the individual or provide information that advances the investigation.

Law enforcement emphasized that the video does not show the shooting itself, nor does it clearly depict a weapon. Investigators say the footage is part of a broader review of surveillance, doorbell camera video, and other digital evidence collected since the attack.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the individual shown in the video to contact law enforcement immediately.
Investigation Remains Active
State and federal agencies, including the FBI, continue to work alongside Providence Police to analyze evidence and pursue leads. Investigators have not released a suspect description beyond what is shown in the newly released video and have not announced a motive for the attack.
Authorities confirmed that the investigation remains active and ongoing, and that public assistance could play a key role in identifying the suspect.
