The long awaited Stargate revival takes a major step forward this January as one of the franchise’s key creative voices prepares to travel to Los Angeles for a three month stay in the writers room that will begin shaping the new series. While I cannot verify internal production details, the creator has openly discussed his preparations as the year closes.

Countdown to Launch

With 2025 ending, he says he is racing to finish a series overview, complete several meetings, rewatch Columbo episodes for upcoming write ups, renew his passport, and secure an O 1 visa before joining Martin Gero and the team. He plans to relocate temporarily with Akemi and their pug Sharky. They have already identified a walkable neighborhood and will begin searching for furnished housing once logistics finalize. Akemi is excited about being close to Trader Joes and even more excited to skip a harsh Canadian winter. Sharky appears equally happy to escape the deep freeze.

New City and Possibly a New Dog

While in Los Angeles, the family also intends to adopt a second pug. They are considering two special needs dogs, confident their experience with Suji and Lulu will help them provide a good home.

Between a Writers Room and a Playoff Push

Even with Stargate gearing up, the showrunner admits his fantasy football team, the Snow Monkeys, is top of mind. After starting the season 0 and 3, they now face a must win game to secure a playoff spot. A victory would seal a remarkable comeback.

Fans Waiting for What Comes Next

The January writers room marks the most concrete movement the franchise has seen in years. Stargate fans are watching closely and hoping this new chapter finally brings the universe back to life.
