Well folks, Christmas is right around the corner. Whoever is running the Homeland Security account on X this year deserves an extra gift under the tree.

The official DHS account dropped a holiday themed post that managed to mix tactical swagger with straight up Christmas fun. The post featured a still image of a Christmas themed tactical team.

Between the imagery and the tone, it was a rare moment of federal agency humor done right. No lecture. No stiff press release language. Just a little seasonal fun from a government account that usually sticks to serious matters.

Most official social media feeds read like legal disclaimers or crisis bulletins. It was refreshing to see a federal agency show that it can still laugh at itself. The agency leaned into the season without turning it into a political food fight.

Credit where it is due. This next one landed as well. It even managed to kick my own Christmas spirit up a notch. A looping gif of President Trump driving Santa’s sleigh after the tactical post? Yes, you read that correctly. Tactical gear. Santa vibes. President Trump at the reins. Somewhere an elf got promoted for creativity.

Merry Christmas, DHS. And to the mystery elf behind the keyboard, you earned that extra cookie this year.
