CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — ** ALL CLEAR GIVEN AT THIS TIME** The University of Virginia issued an emergency alert Monday afternoon after reports of an active shooter at the Shannon Library on the Charlottesville campus. The UVA Police Department warned students, faculty, and staff to shelter in place and follow Run, Hide, Fight protocols as multiple law enforcement agencies responded. The first UVA active shooter alert was sent shortly after 3 p.m. local time, prompting a full campus lockdown while officers secured the area. As of this update, the situation remains active, and authorities have not confirmed any injuries or suspect information. The University of Virginia Police Department continues to post official updates on the investigation through the UVA Safety Alerts system and social media.
