Well, as if New York politics couldn’t get any stranger, it can. At a rally for Zohran Mamdani, Sandy Cortez declared herself sane. Just so we are keeping score, you’ve got a Muslim communist who’s never had a real job running against a disgraced governor responsible for the deaths of hundreds — maybe thousands — during COVID.

And both of them are running against a guy in a raspberry beret who founded the Guardian Angels and quit his job live on the air last week.

But Sandy Cortez — better known as AOC — decided it wasn’t already weird enough in the NYC mayoral race:

Sure, Sandy. Sure you are.

All sane people walk around, and even get in front of large crowds, to regularly announce their sanity. I did it twice last week — once in front of a random Elks Club, and once to the good people at Great Clips.

Great Clips Employee: Are you here for a haircut?
Me: (pointing to the chrome dome) “No, I was just letting you know I’m entirely sane, and not at all crazy, no matter what anyone says. Whats that, leave immediately? Thats what the Elks club said too”
Employee: *arms herself with a hair dryer*

Calm down, Sandy. No one’s accusing you of being crazy — just like no one’s accusing me of eating too much. Some things don’t need to be said.
