A coordinated misinformation surge swept X (formerly Twitter) this week after multiple left-leaning and verified accounts falsely claimed that ICE agents arrested and handcuffed a six-year-old immigrant child in “Trump’s America.”
The video attached to those posts does not show a child, nor does it involve ICE or immigration enforcement. It depicts a 27-year-old woman being detained by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office in Vancouver, Washington, after she was seen walking into oncoming traffic.
The false narrative was posted and amplified by at least five accounts, each repeated the same false claim that a six-year-old immigrant child was arrested by ICE in Trump’s America.
The Facts: No ICE, No Child, No Immigration Arrest
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office issued a public statement debunking the viral claim. Their findings:
- The person in the video is a 27-year-old woman, not a child.
- The detention occurred in Vancouver, Washington, not under federal jurisdiction.
- Deputies intervened for public safety, not immigration enforcement.
- ICE had zero involvement.
- The woman was not arrested, but detained for evaluation after entering traffic lanes.
Their official post labeled the viral claims “inaccurate and misleading.”
Examples of the False Posts
@RonyToThePoint: “A 6-year-old immigrant child is handcuffed with hands behind their back and arrested. Trump’s America.” https://x.com/RonyToThePoint/status/1977319884481786058
@ultras_antifaa: “A 6-year-old immigrant child is handcuffed with hands behind their back and arrested. Trump’s America.”https://x.com/ultras_antifaa/status/1976779776997146860

@tekzilver: “Watch his goons arrest, handcuff, and take away a 6-year-old immigrant child! Even children are not safe in Trump’s MAGA America.”https://x.com/tekzilver/status/1977052358682292594
@DernierCri10: “Barbarism has many faces. As a six-year-old immigrant child in Trump’s USA, you experience it firsthand from an early age.”https://x.com/DernierCri10/status/1977243701865750831
All five accounts used nearly identical phrasing and tone, turning a local safety incident into a viral anti-Trump narrative built on falsehood.
Pattern of Coordinated Disinformation
The synchronized nature of these posts, with identical captions, timing, and framing, suggests copy-pasted political messaging rather than spontaneous outrage. Within hours, the hoax had reached tens of thousands of users, fueling anger and division based on an entirely fabricated premise.
This incident underscores how social media outrage has replaced evidence in political discourse, where narrative often outweighs fact. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office’s swift correction dismantled the false claim, yet many of the same accounts have not retracted their posts.
Official Clarification
“A video circulating online has led to inaccurate claims, including that a 6-year-old child was arrested by ICE. The person in the video is an adult female detained for her own safety after walking into traffic. No children or immigration enforcement were involved.”
— Clark County Sheriff’s Office
Bottom Line
- The viral claim that ICE arrested a six-year-old immigrant is false.
- The video shows a 27-year-old woman detained by Clark County Sheriff’s deputies, not ICE.
- The misinformation was spread by multiple verified and left-wing accounts, including @altrella_l, @RonyToThePoint, @ultras_antifaa, @tekzilver, and @DernierCri10.
- Authorities confirm: “No children. No ICE. No immigration arrest, period.”
