Biden "Am I making sense?"
In a bombshell release, Axios has obtained audio from the October 2023 interview between President Joe Biden and Special Counsel Robert Hur, shedding disturbing light on Biden’s cognitive fitness during a high-stakes classified documents investigation.
The audio—quietly recorded and previously kept under wraps—features Biden struggling with basic recollection, most notably forgetting when his son Beau died, falsely claiming it was 2017. In reality, Beau Biden passed away in 2015. Biden also appeared confused about the timeline of the Trump administration, forgetting that Donald Trump was president in 2016.
Throughout the recording, a ticking clock can be heard in the background, audibly marking the long pauses Biden took while searching for answers. The audio underscores what critics have long suspected: President Biden’s memory is alarmingly unreliable, even in critical matters involving classified documents.
Biden admitted having “minimal memory“ of how the classified materials ended up in his possession. The interview was conducted on October 8, 2023, just one day after Hamas’ attack on Israel, yet Biden displayed little situational awareness. At one point, he even asked the Special Counsel, “Am I making any sense?”
Why It Matters:
- Biden’s forgetfulness and confusion may directly impact the legality and accountability of his handling of sensitive documents.
- The Hur report, which famously described Biden as “an elderly man with a poor memory,” now has the audio receipts to back it up.
- The timing—one day after the Hamas attack—makes the interview all the more concerning, as the President was clearly not mentally sharp during a time of international crisis.
The Biden administration has fought hard to suppress the audio, raising questions about what else the public hasn’t heard.
